Extra Lifers take to the Tabletop to play games and heal kids

Over the weekend of April 12-14, Extra Life held their annual Tabletop Weekend to help raise funds for Children’s Miracles Network Hospitals.

In support of UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, the Gator Gaming crew organized a successful TableTop Weekend, raising $2,556 – more than doubling their total from last year’s event. Throughout their fundraising marathon, they reached five fundraising milestones, secured 65 tournament registrations and achieved over 500 viewers to their Twitch streams.

Local businesses across the area also joined in on the events of the weekend, donating gifts to help make a difference for the future of children’s health. Contributors included: Bragging Rights, Dave & Buster’s, Dick Mondrell’s, Escapology, Just Escaped, Pizza Hut, Satchel’s Pizza and WasabiCon.

The collective efforts of Extra Lifers supporting CMN Hospitals at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital has culminated more than $5,000 since the beginning of 2024.

Extra Life unites thousands of gamers across the world to support CMN Hospitals, with Tabletop Weekend taking center stage in April. With April 11 being National Board Game Day, Extra Life motivated their community to appreciate all the wonderful board games or tabletop games that help gamify fundraising for local member hospitals.

The Extra Life efforts continue long past this April however, with gamers everywhere raising funds through family and friends year-round. Learn more about Extra Life and how you can give back and game on at extra-life.org.
