Phi Mu at Florida State nationally recognized for commitment to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and community

The Phi Mu sorority, Alpha Epsilon chapter, at Florida State University has received national recognition for its high-level achievements, including a strong commitment to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.

At the 2024 organizational convention, Phi Mu Alpha Epsilon won 11 awards and received honorable mentions in four additional categories. Notably, the chapter earned the Dance Marathon honor for raising the highest average amount per member, with $1,738.34. They were also named one of the top fundraising chapters for the Phi Mu Foundation.

During the 2023 academic year, Phi Mu at FSU raised $33,280 for CMN at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital through its philanthropic efforts and $35,654.16 through Dance Marathon activities for a total impact of $68,924.16.

The highest honor of the convention came when Phi Mu Alpha Epsilon was named the winner of the Carnation Cup. The most prestigious honor a chapter can achieve, this award honors the most outstanding Phi Mu chapter after consideration of all areas of chapter operations. Phi Mu not only makes a difference for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, but in their Tallahassee and Florida State communities.

Polly Bird Freear Booth Cowherd Panhellenic Award: Given to the chapter with outstanding involvement in their college Panhellenic organization

Madison Swain for Outstanding Collegiate Member Service to Phi Mu Award: The most prestigious award given to a member of Phi Mu

Philomathean Society Award: An honor only 19 chapters received; Based on statistics from all areas of operations including retention, pledging to quota, being in good standing and being at campus total
