Tallahassee community comes together to make Miracles on Madison
Despite near record-high temperatures, supporters of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals flocked to Madison Street in Collegetown, downtown Tallahassee, for the return of Miracles on Madison on Saturday, June 22.
Over 150 people enjoyed the festivities of the Miracles on Madison block party, which was last held in 2019.
The block party featured a unique food and drink pairing from restaurants and vendors along Madison Street, including Bowden’s, Coosh’s Bayou Rouge, Little Masa, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Madison Social, Sunstop and Vice Society. Guests also enjoyed live entertainment and games setup throughout Madison Street during the evening. Country artist Jason Byrd performed on stage at Bowden’s, while attendees enjoyed cornhole, a wine toss, Plinko and giant Jenga.
Additionally, Township partnered with the event by offering all Miracles on Madison ticketholders admission to their fan-favorite event, Dueling Pianos – which kept the energy and entertainment going long into the night.
Two Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals ambassador families were able to join-in on the fun as well. Dani-Lynn and her family took the stage at Bowden’s to share her journey with Congenital Heart Disease and speak to attendees about the impact their support makes for families like hers at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. Later, the night concluded with raffle prize drawings led by 12-year-old ambassador Fletcher Huddleston. Living in Tallahassee, Fletcher and his family understand the importance of supporting UF Health Shands after having spent much time in Gainesville during his fight with Burkitt Lymphoma.
All proceeds from the event will benefit UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital to purchase live-saving equipment, fund groundbreaking research and provide diversionary and support programs that would not otherwise be possible. The support of Miracles on Madison ensures children in the Big Bend area receive top-notch specialized pediatric medical care.
