Extra Lifers level up for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital on Game Day

On Nov. 4, Extra Life completed their 15th-annual Game Day, uniting gamers around the world to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Thanks to the effort of our local fundraisers and teams, $55,528 and counting has been raised for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.

Studio Wildcard, which hosted their Game Day event on Dec. 2, led the efforts for the children’s hospital, raising over $37,000 during the year. Studio Wildcard hosted a livestream for Game Day, which included a guest speaker from the children’s hospital, Drew Walker.

Walker is a data scientist and founder of the Streetlight Gaming and Online Team, which serves as a community for people who are going through similar situations to have a way to meet and have fun together through shared interests, like online gaming, tv and movies, and creativity. He currently resides in Atlanta, remotely working in a data and research capacity, but his efforts started the work Streetlight does today with patient gaming.

As the year winds down, we say thank you again for the efforts and support of UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital through Extra Life. The dedication of our Extra Life gamers helps remind us that it is possible to make an impact on kids’ futures, especially when we unite under one cause. Stay tuned for more information about registration for Extra Life 2024.
