West Palm Beach Radiothon raises over $121,000

There is something to be said about a group of individuals who come together for a cause and do everything in their power to make miracles For The Kids. For the Radiothon team at Glades Media Radio Group in West Palm Beach, Fl, supporting the children at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital was no question. They worked tirelessly for two straight days to raise funds and awareness for our kids and were committed to bettering their lives in the process.

At 7:00 a.m. on December 12, 2018, the Radio staff at Glades Media Radio Group began their annual Radiothon fundraiser for CMN at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.

They spoke on three different channels, 99.5 La Ley, 96.9 Radio Fiesta, and 106.1 Radio Fiesta, in order to reach as many listeners as possible. They encouraged listeners to put themselves in the shoes of families and children in the hospital and talked about how a simple donation would make a direct impact on those within our hospital walls. Through tremendous effort, hard work, and story-telling, the team prompted donors to call in and donate in an effort to better the lives of the children who needed it.

On day two of the Radiothon, the team came into the day stronger than ever, committed to finish what they had started, and determined to finish strong. As the end of the Radiothon neared, the entire team came back for the final hour, to push, inspire, and promote the cause. To sit in the station and watch the magic unfold was indescribable and the passion that came from each team member was uplifting and moving. As the clock neared 6:00 p.m. on December 13th, the team did everything they could and their efforts did not go unrewarded.

For their two-day Radiothon, Glades Media Radio Group was able to raise $121,217.00 For The Kids, surpassing last year’s total by almost $4,000.

Nancy Corcuera, a prominent member of Glades Media Radio Group, really led the movement throughout the two-day Radiothon, inspiring not only donors, but the rest of her team. Her passion for the children is unmatched, having visited UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital in the past, and truly connecting to why giving back is so important. With her guidance, leadership, and motivation, her team was able to surpass last year’s total and make a huge impact on our children.

Glades Media Radio Group has been a proud supporter of CMN at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital since 2012. Since they began, they have raised over $635,000. Thanks to team members like Nancy Corcuera and Paul Danitz, Glades Media Radio Group’s General Sales Manager, UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital has been able to conduct more research, purchase life saving equipment, and provide more tools to the Child Life Department.

There is a lot to be said about a group that supports a great cause, but for Glades Media Radio Group, their passion speaks for itself. And their efforts go a long, long way for those who truly need it.
