Miracles in Motion: Mother’s Day

“When Sage was first diagnosed, I felt overwhelmed & anxious about the unknown. What does Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome mean? What kind of life is he going to live? The unknown is very scary. My hopes and dreams for Sage is that he’s able to live a happy, fulfilled, and healthy ‘normal’ life. I want him to live to be able to go to college, to be the police officer that he’s been wanting to be since he was 4, get married, have children- just as long as he is happy.

“My favorite thing about being a Miracle Mom would be the opportunities.  We have been able to meet some amazing people and families who all have gone through the same or similar situations.  We have been able to travel and share our story in hopes of touching others.  As well as having a “family of friends” looking out for us and are always willing to help when Sage is having a hospital/ER stay or medical procedure.”

“Being Sage’s mom is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.  His sense of humor is what gets us through some of the hard times.  He has this sense of adventure that scares me, but at the same time, I love to watch.  He has a huge heart and cares so much for others.  He touches the lives of the people around him, and I am so thankful I get to see the rewards.” – Candice, mom to Sage, CMN Hospitals Ambassador
