Miracles In Motion: Heather

“My nephew was born 18 years ago last April at 28 weeks gestation and 1 pound, 9 ounces. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital there and was in their NICU for three months. I was 15 at the time and remember going there to visit my sister and seeing the impact that CMN Hospitals were making on her family. My nephew starts college this year at Jacksonville University. He was at orientation where the local CMN team was presenting to some of the students, and they passed around a preemie diaper. He texted me and said, ‘They don’t have Dance Marathon here yet. How do I start one?’” – Heather, senior director of program management, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital

Heather began her journey at UF Health as a dancer participant during Dance Marathon at UF in 2003. She ended her student leadership trajectory as the Overall Chair for DM at UF in 2006. Since then, she has served in a variety of professional positions within Children’s Miracle Network and the Annual Giving team for UF Health Office of Development. Currently, Heather oversees local Children’s Miracle Network strategy and works with grateful patients, hospital staff, and donors benefiting Pediatrics at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.
