High School Dance Marathons, Community Marathons and Mini-Marathons kick off 2020!

Three of our collegiate Dance Marathon programs (Dance Marathon at Florida State University, Dance Marathon at the University of Florida and OwlThon at Florida Atlantic University) have officially kicked off their High School Dance Marathon, Community Marathon and Mini-Marathon seasons with a bang– raising nearly $100,000 in 2020 as of this past weekend:

  • Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts: $17,546.37 (10% increase over 2019)
  • American Heritage School – Boca/Delray: $51,400.96 (71% increase over 2019)
  • Deer Lake Middle (part of Chiles): $2,522.28 (first-year program)
  • East Ridge High School: $2,065.46
  • FSUS Middle School (part of FSUS): $5,103.70 (342% increase over 2019)
  • Maclay Middle School (part of Maclay School): $4,656.28 (79% increase over 2019)
  • Monfort Middle School (part of Chiles/Lincoln): $2,083.77 (27% increase over 2019)
  • Saint Andrew’s School: $22,650.37 (20% increase over 2019)
  • Vanguard High School: $5,262.67 (first-year program)

FSU, UF and FAU-affiliated middle and high school programs will continue to fundraise for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, until the culmination of their respective university’s Dance Marathon event:

  • Dance Marathon at Florida State University: March 6-8 in Tallahassee, FL
  • Dance Marathon at the University of Florida: March 28-29 in Gainesville, FL
  • OwlThon at Florida Atlantic University: April 4 in Boca Raton, FL

We will update weekend totals as they continue to occur in the remaining weeks of February and March. A tremendous thank you to dancer participants, students, advisors and donors of these incredible K-12 schools (along with their supporting university’s students and advisors) who have been dedicating their time and resources for the benefit of local kids.
