On Saturday, Feb. 19, Dance Marathon at the University of Florida will host its third annual Miracles in Color 5K. The course winds through the UF campus and ends at Flavet Field. Throughout the run, participants are doused in colored powder. After five kilometers, participants not only have a colored shirt, but also a sense of fulfillment.

“It is an opportunity for our members, communities and miracle families to come together for an important cause,” said DM at UF Marketing Manager Paige Davis, who has been part of the Miracles in Color 5K since its inaugural run in 2020. “Miracles in Color allows us to share what Dance Marathon at UF has to offer in an inviting, upbeat way.”

Like DM at FSU’s Miles for Miracles, the Miracles in Color 5K benefits your local CMN Hospital, UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. All funds contribute to critical pediatric equipment and research funding for our patients.

“It is important for us to plan events throughout the year,” Davis said. “Especially now, amid a pandemic, we must continue to provide safe but entertaining events to keep our primary goal in mind: to raise funds and awareness for the children at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.”

The Miracles in Color 5K is one of the final events before the spring fundraiser. On March 25-26, DM at UF will take center stage at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Last year, DM at UF raised $2,270,311 during its spring event, upping its historical fundraising total to nearly $27 million.

“It is an important time for us to remind our members why we do what we do,” Davis said. “Miracles in Color is about bringing everyone closer together as teammates, friends, and community members so that we all walk into the O’Dome on March 26 a united front.”
