DM Showcase Week: OwlThon at Florida Atlantic University
“There is a mirror at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital that sits in the corner of the physical therapy room. That mirror is my ‘why,’ because some kids are seeing what they look like for the first time when they go into the hospital. That keeps me going and fighting for this cause, so that more kids can see themselves in that mirror and see that they are the real fighters and true heroes when they look at themselves. We are the cheerleaders on the sidelines to make those glances in the mirror happen.”
