A Weekend in Review: High School Dance Marathons and Mini-Marathons

Three of our collegiate Dance Marathon programs (Dance Marathon at Florida State University, OwlThon at Florida Atlantic University, and Dance Marathon at the University of Florida) continued with incredible fundraising efforts by their High School Programs and Mini-Marathons this past weekend–raising more than $45,000!

  • William T. Dwyer High School: $3,557.45 (first-year program)
  • Eastside High School: $9,070.35 (45% increase over 2018)
  • Suncoast Community High School: $32,135.09 (50% increase over 2018)
  • Kanapaha Middle School: $3,891.75 (58% increase over 2018)

Other middle school programs will be formally celebrated at the conclusion of their respective high school program’s event.

FSU, FAU, and UF-affiliated middle and high school programs will continue to fundraise for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, until the culmination of their respective university’s Dance Marathon event:

  • OwlThon at Florida Atlantic University: March 23 in Boca Raton, FL
  • Dance Marathon at the University of Florida: March 30-31 in Gainesville, FL

We will update weekend totals as they continue to occur in the remaining weeks of February and March. A tremendous thank you to dancer participants, students, advisors, and donors of these incredible K-12 schools (along with their supporting university’s students and advisors) who have been dedicating their time and resources for the benefit of local kids.
