A Weekend in Review: High School Dance Marathons and Mini-Marathons

Three of our collegiate Dance Marathon programs (Dance Marathon at Florida State University, Dance Marathon at the University of Florida, and OwlThon at Florida Atlantic University) have officially kicked off their High School Dance Marathon and Mini-Marathon seasons with a bang– raising more than $50,000 this past weekend:

  • Oak Hall School: $13,258.69 (116% increase over 2018)
  • Florida State University Schools: $40,210.26, with $1,153.60 coming from its middle school program (44% increase over 2018)
Other middle school programs will be formally celebrated at the conclusion of their respective high school program’s event.

FSU, UF, and FAU-affiliated middle and high school programs will continue to fundraise for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, until the culmination of their respective university’s Dance Marathon event:

  • Dance Marathon at Florida State University: March 1-3 in Tallahassee, FL
  • OwlThon at Florida Atlantic University: March 23 in Boca Raton, FL
  • Dance Marathon at the University of Florida: March 30-31 in Gainesville, FL

We will update weekend totals as they continue to occur in the remaining weeks of February and March. A tremendous thank you to dancer participants, students, advisors, and donors of these incredible K-12 schools (along with their supporting university’s students and advisors) who have been dedicating their time and resources for the benefit of local kids.
