Cleat Crew raises $11,800 for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals recently joined forces with 7-Eleven to raise funds for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital through their Cleat Crew initiative. The collaboration resulted in a contribution of $11,800 through the auctioning of a pair of custom cleats.
Crafted by The Shoe Surgeon, alongside star running back Trevor Etienne, the cleats helped raised money that will be directed towards the children’s hospital, aiming to provide essential support for children through critical care and specialized programs. These programs include in-hospital schools, playrooms, and even the inclusion of therapy dogs, offering young patients a realm of possibilities.
The Cleat Crew initiative culminated in an impactful event and check presentation on Jan. 19, which included the presentation of the $11,800 check, bringing together Etienne, 7-Eleven representatives and representatives from CMN.
Ambassadors from CMN, along with hospital patients and staff, were invited to meet Etienne, receive autographed footballs and partake in a few games of catch throughout the afternoon. Beyond the formal event, the collaboration extended further than the celebration. Etienne and 7-Eleven representatives were given a tour of the children’s hospital at the conclusion of the check presentation, offering a firsthand experience to interact with patients who couldn’t be present at the event while seeing the difference that their partnership with CMN makes.
The CMN team at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is so thankful for 7-Elevent and our partnership. Initiatives such as Cleat Crew serve as an important reminder that, when we come together, we have the ability to make a difference in the future of pediatric care.
